October is my favorite time of year in New York. The weather is cool and clear, not too many tourists clogging the streets, and the heavy humidity is non-existent. The CMJ Festival began today and we helped kick it off with a short set in the Puck Building, where the conference registrants were picking up their badges, media was beginning to assemble, musicians were playing and college radio DJs were soaking up the music. Should be a fun week, especially our upcoming show on Friday night at an “indie” bookstore called the Housing Works.
Music can save the world.

It’s always great to be in New York…..even if it’s late August yet only 62 degrees outside and rainy and cloudy. Couldn’t we at least have a nice spring-like day while we’re here? We played New York last night to celebrate the release of our album yesterday. It’s a very exciting time as we send the efforts of our hard work into the world and see how people respond. Interviews, camera crews, radio shows, sound checks…..All at lightning speed in New York City.
Can’t wait for the hometown show on Monday night.

VARIETY reports “Standout is the trance-inducing take on Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold the World” (perhaps channeling Nirvana’s own unplugged cover of the song), which remains as haunting as the original. Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” gets a suitably mournful run-through and Muse’s “Time is Running Out” would work in a high-brow action movie. Ditto the Strokes’”Juicebox,” which sounds like Bernard Herrmann.”
THE LA TIMES says “on FUZZBOX, these four string players, with help from producer Linda Perry, succeed magnificently in translating the alienation, loneliness, wit and rage contained in the originals.

The MOCA show on Friday was a blast!
The weather was perfect for an outdoor evening show and the audience rocked!
Thanks to all who attended…
Also, our new EPK is up for viewing!
Carlos Grasso did an AMAZING job on it, and you should all check it out!
It’s posted on our myspace page, youtube, and our website (which is getting new additions every couple of days!).
We’re going to be playing another downtown show on August 2nd, so for those of you who couldn’t make it out to MOCA…… we’ll be at Pershing Square on the 2nd.
Hope to see you there!

I’ve always wanted to title a blog that. I guess I’m not to be trusted, but what the heck.
The album release is getting closer and closer and we can’t wait to play these songs out on the road. Rehearsals have commenced. Blogging obviously has commenced.
Yesterday we received word that Chris Cornell heard our version of Black Hole Sun and was blown away. Ahh, that feels good!

t’s Sunday morning in sunny L.A.
As we’re gearing up for the release of our new record, I am blown away by the amount of decision-making involved. From the album art to photos, website, etc…. Don’t get me wrong, it’s all very exciting! -Just much more involved in ways I hadn’t anticipated. I thought the hard part (making the actual record) was over!
The new website (not up yet) is really looking great. Much thanks to Jeff and Bill. I wish you could see it now, but all the kinks are being worked out before it’s up and active. Soon, though.
Keep checking back, because in the next several weeks more new material will be posted, here and on our website.
Until then, Paranoid Android from our new record is up on the MySpace player, along with a sneak peek of the album cover. Our friend Chris Cuttriss put together a great little video on “the making of” that song, which is also posted.
It’s Sunday. What am I doing at the computer? I’m going to walk down to the farmer’s market and get some strawberries.

Wednesday we all awoke extremely early to perform for the Universal Records sales staff (the people who’ll be selling the millions of copies of our album to the stores).
They we’re a really nice and appreciative crowd. We even received a standing ovation, which was completely unexpected from such a jaded, music loving crowd……at 8 am.
We then had the honor of signing the “wall of fame” next to 50 cent, Kanye West, and many other superstars.
I’m sure with the pending release of the CD, we’ll be doing more of this type of thing. Just not at 8 a.m……………….Right??
looking for a nap,

Ever want to get mildly lit and play Bowie songs in front of people? Yes? Then we all have something in common. Fun gig last night. Daphne broke not one, but TWO strings last night, which meant lots of microphone time for Eric while Daphne changed strings backstage. The good people of LA were not ready for that occurence!
TSQ shows are always an adventure. If you don’t believe us, come see for yourself.

……is no where to be found here today in sunny LA! We’re gearing up for the album release in a few months and gettin’ our busy on. Shows, rehearsals, photos, filming, recording……it seemingly never ends. But what a summer it’s going to be!
Our website and MySpace page will be getting facelifts soon. We’ll still be Sexual Chocolate to those who care.
Oh yeah, check us out with Tom Higginson of Plain White T’s on the Jimmy Kimmel show this Friday, June 8th.
Rock on.

TSQ News

“It’s been such a long time⦔
The Section Quartet has been out of touch with you for several months now, but we miss you and hope you’ve been thinking of us as much as we’ve been thinking of you. We’ve been hard at work on our album, playing on sessions and gigging around the country since the last time we spoke. Let’s go backwards in order to go forwards:
JAYWALKING IN AUSTIN
While in Austin to play at SXSW, TSQ participated in a filmed piece for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno - airing Thursday, March 22nd - with Wayne Coyne, lead singer of the Flaming Lips. Together with Wayne, we helped some hard-working Austinites star in their very own music videos to the tune of TSQ rockin’ out some Led Zeppelin, Radiohead and Queens of the Stone Age. At the end of the shoot, Wayne turned to Eric and said “well, that was weird, wasn’t it?” Coming from the head Flaming Lip, that’s sayin’ something! Stay up late or Tivo the show, but whatever you do, DO NOT MISS THIS ONE THURSDAY NIGHT!!!
DECCA THE HALLS
At the end of 2006 TSQ entered the studio with producer Linda Perry to begin work on our debut album for Decca Records, the legendary record label once home to The Rolling Stones. In December, two and a half intense weeks of work with Linda were followed by several days with Jon Brion, who is also producing tracks for the album. Working with both Linda and Jon has been a scintillating experience: eye opening, challenging, fun and exhausting all at once. Work has continued into the new year and the album is nearing completion. Fingers crossed, the album should be out in the summer of 2007.
